On trouve souvent des (mini)distributions de Linux bootables sur clef USB, mais on trouve rarement l’outil pour rendre une clef USB (non U3) bootable. Enfin personnellement, j’ai toujours eu du mal. Comme j’ai (encore) perdu ma clef r\u00e9cemment et apr\u00e8s avoir gal\u00e9r\u00e9 pour retrouver l’outil, l’id\u00e9e un p’tit message dans le blog m’est venue. Mon besoin est de d\u00e9marrer une SLAX<\/a>.<\/p>\n

L’utilit\u00e9 de la chose n’est plus \u00e0 d\u00e9montrer : r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration par r\u00e9seau (ou HD) des donn\u00e9es d’un syt\u00e8me (windows) compl\u00e8tement plant\u00e9, utilisation d’un graveur de CD\/DVD sur une machine o\u00f9 vous n’avez pas acc\u00e8s au logiciel de gravure etc etc. Bref, un acc\u00e8s \u00e0 la vol\u00e9e \u00e0 une flopp\u00e9e d’outils-qui-vous-sauvent-la-mise.<\/p>\n

Alors, il vous faut dans l’ordre :
\n1) une clef USB de 256 Mo par exemple (suivant la distrib que vous choisissez).
\n2) un bel outil de HP <\/a> qui vous rend bootable la clef (et descend quelques \u00ab\u00a0outils\u00a0\u00bb MS-DOS pour pouvoir lancer SLAX)
\n3) le ZIP de SLAX<\/a> qui vous plait
\n4) un BIOS qui permet de booter sur les p\u00e9riph\u00e9riques USB (\u00e7a, c’est \u00e0 vous de v\u00e9rifier – tous les PC r\u00e9cents (2\/3 ans) le font)<\/p>\n

La proc\u00e9dure :
\n1) Lancez l’outil HP qui vous formate la clef comme il faut, voyez les options :
\nHP USB Boot<\/a>
\n2) D\u00e9zippez SLAX \u00e0 la racine de la clef
\n3) Bootez comme il faut sur la clef.
\n4) De l\u00e0, vous pourrez lancer \\boot\\dos\\linux pour d\u00e9marrer votre SLAX, via LOADLIN.<\/p>\n

Remarques :
\n– La clef doit \u00eatre format\u00e9e en FAT (sous-entendu FAT16). Je conseille \u00e0 ce titre d’utiliser une clef expr\u00e8s pour votre Linux bootable et pas pour le reste, sinon – pour faire simple – vous perdez pas mal de place. Pour le reste (donn\u00e9es, applications portables etc), pr\u00e9f\u00e9rez formater votre clef en FAT32.
\n– Un LiveOS sur clef USB ne modifiera rien sur vos disques existants<\/strong>, sauf si vous y acc\u00e9dez et que vous les modifiez sciemment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
